About Ridan
Publishing |
Who
we are? Ridan is a
traditional publisher, specializing is releasing
new and returning to the market quality works
of genre fiction including: Fantasy, Science
Fiction, Mystery, Thrillers, and Horror Stories.
Our roots started with indie authors, those that
had been self-publishing with limited success.
Today, our roster of quality writers includes
Science Fiction Grand Master Joe
Haldeman, and New York Times Best-selling
authors A.C. Crispin and
Rick Murcer . Many of Ridan's top selling
authors have sold thousands, or even tens of
thousands books per month which is a testament
to
the quality of the titles we
select. Ridan authors
who have sold more than ten-thousand books in
a single month include Michael J.
Sullivan
's The Riyria Revelations (currently published
through Orbit) and Marshall
Thomas
's Soldier of the Legion Series. Authors that have sold
at least five-thousand copies in a month
include: Joe Haldeman
's Forever War,
Nathan Lowell
's Trader Tales of the Solar
Clipper Series, and Leslie Ann
Moore 's
Griffin's Daughter Trilogy.
At
Ridan we are passionate about the writers we
publish. In an industry where author's scrape by,
and usually have to maintain
a "day job" to make ends meet, we are pleased
to find the true gems in both old and
new works which, when properly
produced and marketed, can find
an enthusiastic audience. We believe that the author,
not the publisher, should make the lion's
share of the profit and as such
our royalty rates are unprecedented in the industry.
In addition, we offer sales direct from our website
which eliminates distributor fees and ensures that your favorite author
is getting the highest income possible. If you
wish to fully support your favorite author, please
consider buying directly from our
store.
Where
can I buy Ridan books? Ridan produces both print and
ebooks and they can be
found at all on-line at major retailers such as
Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Kobo, iBookStore, Book Depository
and dozens of other venues. Print books are
also available through
virtually any bookstore via Ingram Distribution
services. In general, books from small
publishers are not routinely stocked (as
shelf space is limited) at most brick and mortar
stores, but you can special order any of our
titles by making a request at the information
desk. Providing the ISBN will aid the salesperson
in finding the correct title. Because we utilize
print-on-demand technology, you may have to
purchase the book at time of ordering. This
business model lets Ridan eliminate the need for
warehousing and ensure higher revenue for our
authors.
Remember that
while you can obtain Ridan books through standard
distribution channels, doing so will
have a significant impact on
the amount of
money flowing to the author. Retail chains
can take 40% - 60% of the sales price, so
please buy direct from our site whenever
possible. In addition, if you are purchasing a
printed copy of a book, we can provide you
signed and personalized dedicated copies.
How can I submit a
book for publication?
Due to the number of high
quality projects already in production, Ridan is
not currently open to new author submissions. We
anticipate this
to
remain in effect through Q1 2012. You
may check back in April 2012 for further updates.
If you are an author and wish to be notified
by email when we are open to submissions,
please send us an
email.
