Kathleen O'Malley has
collaborated with A.C. Crispin on two of the seven
Starbridge books: Silent Dances and Silent Songs also
worked on Serpent's Gift. She spent spent most of
her career working with animals including: working
on an Arabian horse farm, breeding and showing Doberman
pinschers and greyhounds, working in professional dog
show kennels, and gradually moved into humane work and
animal rescue. But the job she credits as
having the greatest impact on her life was working
with wildlife at the Patuxent Wildlife Research Center. She worked there
for more than twenty years with a variety of endangered
species including bald eagles, Andean condors, masked bobwhite
quail, and four species of cranes. That included the endangered
whooping crane and even more endangered Mississippi sandhill crane.
In addition
to the works released by Ridan, Kathleen has also
written a Star Trek Next Generation book (Possession)
and worked with A.C. Crispin on the novelization of
Alien Resurrection based on the script by Josh
Whedon. She also has contributed stories in three
anthologies: Tales of Zorro, The Ultimate Werewolf, and
Werewolves and Shapeshifters: Encounters with the Beast
Within.
